    Location

Over priced, old, tacky room. Stained carpet, lumpy bed, dirty air vent in shower. Had to pay more to be put into one of the refurbished rooms. AC dial, but no AC in room, and Sky channels unavailable. Staff uncaring to how bad the room was, and not sorry for the poor room standard.

    Location

Nothing. This room was a disgrace I cant believe a chain hotel would present a room in this manor and actually charge for it. Every inch of the carpet had stains, there was mould through out the bathroom, the furniture looked like it came from a garage sale and the kitchen was just a slab of mdf with a couple of cups and nothing eles. This is what you get for a $130 room at the Mercure Picton. Beware before booking a room here the website does not show in detail of what you are actually booking.

    Location

Reception was completely disorganised, booking all changed from original on line. Room was only partially renovated - bathroom very old. No way of knowing what quality of room was being booked.

The showers - small, dirty grouting and tiles. It needs a makeover.

Best location and awesome sea views, large rooms.

furnishings and bathroom were a bit dated

    Good location

Not greatest value for money. Expect more from a chain hotel like Mecure

    The location. Off street parking.

This hotel seriously needs a referb. It's worn out and dated. As the gate way to the south island I really think Picton Hotels should try to set the standard. As a south islander I am disapointed that overseas tourists have to stay in such worn out old hotels like this one.

An awful experience. Room we were allocated was disgustingly old and also very unclean. We have travelled the world using Booked.net and Mercure and Accor hotels and this would rate as one of the worst. A dreadful example of hotel accommodation in nz recommend you don't stay there! Lesson learned - don't believe the photos!!

    Very good

Location was prefect. Prices in the bar and restaurant were reasonable. Checking staff friendly.

Girl in the bar had no idea and was really slow, may be new but we ordered the same drinks over and over again and she was really bad. We waited for the guy to come to get our drinks. He was so good he even let us rider food right before you were closing in half an hour. Bathrooms need a lick of paint (updating) and the shower is not built for tall people. I am 165cms and just fit under it but other than that it was clean and tidy. Definately a family hotel.

The bed was old and sagged, no insect screens, room had poor ventilation, bathroom ver old and shabby, toilet constantly running, no privacy from pool or restaurant.

    Good

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I felt the room was outdated and needed to be modernised. The showered had very little pressure, which was made showering an effort.

After an initial hiccup in regards to the first room offered we had an enjoyable stay room 302 was excellent

The first room offered 204 was terrible and should never be offered to the public. It may be of value to modernise the room in line with Accor standards. Given that the hotel was virtually empty I am uncertain as to why were offered it. the second room 302 was excellent

Nothing the disgusting state of cleanliness in the room overshadowed everything else

The Room was very tired and in need of a deep clean and repair of facilities in the toilet and showers The worst room in my 3 week stay in New Zealand

we liked the spacious room which was clean, well appointed and very comfortable, especially the bed. staff were all friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent and the rates/room price we booked was great value for money.
